    Who inspects

    Delegated; licensing and inspection of food service operations and retail food establishments is done by the local board of health of a city or general health district, under Ohio Department of Health and Ohio Department of Agriculture oversight Agency page

    What the public sees

    A narrative violation list only, with no grade or score; complete inspection reports are posted online to let the public view all violations and comments noted during inspection. Columbus additionally issues color-coded inspection signs. Source

    Food code in force

    2022 FDA Food Code. The FDA Food Code is a model, not a federal mandate — each state decides which edition to adopt and how far to amend it.

Worth knowing. The old statewide HealthSpace site is gone. Since May 2025 the state has used Accela, and each local health district runs its own public access site. Some districts' records pause around May 2025 because of the platform switch.
